Slow Wi-Fi

Slow Wi-Fi needs evidence, not a router replacement guess.

A slow Wi-Fi complaint can come from weak signal, low link rate, crowded channels, roaming behavior, DNS delay, gateway latency, packet loss or the internet provider path.

Common causes

  • Low negotiated link rate: the device may show connected but transfer slowly.
  • Channel congestion: nearby access points can compete for airtime.
  • Bad placement: weak signal or high interference can reduce usable throughput.
  • DNS delay: pages appear slow because names resolve slowly, not because Wi-Fi is weak.
  • Gateway or WAN issues: the local router or internet path may be the bottleneck.

How Infracheck helps

InfraZoom by Infracheck checks Wi-Fi, gateway, DNS and HTTP from the phone. The Windows app checks similar symptoms from a PC. The local appliance adds continuous WAN, DNS, HTTP/TLS, packet loss and LAN history from inside the site.
