Why do some websites load while others do not?
Partial access often means the internet is not completely down. DNS answers, IPv6 paths, TLS validation, filtering or routing to a specific service may differ.
What this symptom actually means
One working website proves only that one name and path worked at that moment. Cached DNS, content-delivery networks and different address families can make two sites behave differently on the same device.
What to check
- Try the affected service on another device and through mobile data to distinguish the local network from the service itself.
- Check whether the hostname resolves and compare the configured DNS resolver with a known public resolver without assuming different CDN answers are automatically wrong.
- Verify the device date and time because large clock errors can break TLS certificates.
- Temporarily review VPN, parental-control, filtering and security software rather than disabling protections permanently.
- Record the exact hostname, error message and time; 'the internet is broken' loses the most useful evidence.
