Connection
Why am I connected to Wi-Fi but have no internet?
Being connected to Wi-Fi only confirms the link to the access point. The router, DNS resolver or provider connection can still be unavailable.
What this symptom actually means
The Wi-Fi icon proves that your device joined a wireless network; it does not prove that the router can reach the internet. The failure may affect one device, every Wi-Fi device, or the entire site including wired devices.
What to check
- Try a second website and a second device so that one broken service is not mistaken for a network outage.
- Check whether another device on the same Wi-Fi has internet access.
- If possible, test a computer by Ethernet. Working Ethernet points toward Wi-Fi or client configuration; failing Ethernet points farther upstream.
- Open the router or gateway address. If it responds but public sites do not, test DNS and external connectivity separately.
- Look for a captive-portal sign-in page on hotel, guest or public networks before changing device settings.
How Infrazoom can help
Run Quick Scan. Infrazoom checks the phone's Wi-Fi link, gateway reachability, DNS, HTTP and Android's own internet validation in layers, so the first failed layer becomes visible.
When to escalate
Contact the provider when wired and wireless devices fail, the gateway is reachable, and external connectivity remains unavailable. Contact the router administrator when only Wi-Fi clients fail or the problem returns after every restart.
Infracheck provides diagnostic evidence and guidance. It cannot identify the owner of a nearby network, access your router administration account, or guarantee the cause of an intermittent provider fault from one scan.
