Wi-Fi diagnostics
Wi-Fi troubleshooting checklist for field technicians.
Use Infracheck when a customer reports slow Wi-Fi, unstable roaming, captive portal problems, weak signal, or intermittent internet from a mobile device.
What to check first
- Confirm SSID, BSSID, band, channel, RSSI, link speed, and Android network validation.
- Run DNS and HTTP checks from the phone to separate wireless signal problems from upstream internet problems.
- Check nearby networks for same-channel and adjacent-channel congestion.
- Use Wi-Fi Live to record RSSI movement and roaming behavior while walking the affected area.
- Export a report so the support ticket includes evidence, not only a user description.
When the issue is not really Wi-Fi
Many Wi-Fi complaints are caused by DNS latency, captive portal behavior, WAN packet loss, HTTP/TLS failures, overloaded gateways, or customer-device behavior. Infracheck combines phone-side checks with appliance telemetry so technicians can separate client-side symptoms from site-wide faults.
Recommended Infracheck workflow
- Run Quick Scan at the complaint location.
- Run Wi-Fi Live while moving through the affected area.
- Pair with the local appliance if one is deployed.
- Compare phone results with appliance health, WAN, DNS, HTTP, and alert state.
- Share the report with the customer or attach it to the support ticket.
Best fit
Infracheck is useful for MSPs, IT support teams, branch offices, SMB networks, and technicians who need repeatable Wi-Fi evidence from the actual user location.
